![]() Misunderstood or Totally Clueless Mom assisting kid with biology homework, looking for Fetal Scent Syndrome. Turns out it was his GEOGRAPHY homework and he was supposed to research the Fertile Crescent. Kid asked for "How to turn your dad into a bagel." Turns out he needed something on Trinidad and Tobago. While working at the children's desk, an adult patron once askd me for books about "damnation." I faltered for a second, not sure whether I was looking for the kid friendly fire and brimstone books or what, and the patron repeated what sounded like, "Damnation! Damnation! One hundred and one!" Which cleared it up quite a bit, and we found books about spotted dogs. Student and mother ask for a book on the "killer whale" volcano (Kilauea!) Kid looking for a book by Anne Frank. Gave her The Diary of Anne Frank and the child looked at me and said "I know this one...didn't she write anything else?" Books about fox painting (turned out to be "faux" painting). The book about the GOBLINS! (turned out to be the Elfquest series)
