---------------------

The Phantom Tollbooth

"Flatland" is a good math book for this age group

Anthony, Piers. Fractal Mode. And others in the "Mode" Series. These have a love story in them, too, but the whole universe is based on principles of mathematics.

Base, Graham. The Eleventh Hour and others...

Bauer, Joan. Sticks (check level, it's with children's books)

Rucker, Rudy. Mathenauts - a science fiction short story collection.

These following suggestions cover a wide range of reading levels and represent a variety of "sciences." A couple of these titles deal with science "teachers."
