Anthony, Evelyn. Doll's House. 1992.
Recently divorced Rosa Bennett feels she has nothing to lose when offered a dangerous mission by British Intelligence. When Jolette Caresse inherits her family's New Orleans perfume business, she is dismayed to learn that the secret formula for their most popular fragrance was never divulged by her recently deceased grandmother. Joletta's only clue to this formula is contained in diaries written by Violet Fossier, a distant family relation, as she made the grand tour of Europe in 1854. Joletta's re-creation of Violet's journey across Europe is fraught with adventure, suspense, and, of course, romance.

Briskin, Jacqueline. Other Side of Love. 1991.
The four Kingsmith cousins from America and from Europe meet up in Berlin in 1936 for the Olympic Games where one of them is a participant. Family loves and loyalties are sorely tested by the horror of World War II.

Chamberlain, Diane. Keeper of the Light. 1992.
Annie O'Neill was seen as the perfect wife, mother, friend, and neighbor. Her unexpected and tragic death devastates all who knew her; especially her husband Alec, her former lover Paul, and his wife Olivia (the surgeon who tried to save Annie's life after she was shot). They all seem powerless to get on with their lives because of their hero worship of Annie. One person finally feels that she has to speak up and topple Annie from her pedestal so the shocking truth will enable the others to get their lives back on track

Ellen Jebeaux's love for her son Joseph is so ovewhelmingly destructive that Joe suffers a nervous breakdown. It takes a very special person, namely Maggie, to make Joe believe in the magic and wonder of love.

After being knocked unconscious at the carnival in Nice, Remy Jardin awakens with total amnesia. When her picture is published in the local paper, she is identified by someone who knows her well -- Cole Buchanan. He takes Remy back to her native New Orleans where she struggles to recreate her past and to find out what part Cole played in her life.

Gabaldon, Diana. Outlander. 1991.
After being separated for many years because of World War II, Claire Randall and her researcher husband Frank decide to take a second honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands. While sightseeing at an ancient stone circle, Claire is suddenly transported back to the Scottish countryside of 1743 -- a time of great political unrest. To survive, Claire has to marry a Scottish soldier, one Jamie Fraser. She finds a love so strong, it transcends time and space.

One spiteful moment, one lifetime of anguish. Dolly's betrayal of her sister Eve leads to a tragic chain of events that also affects Eve's two daughters Annie and Laurel. Complications and misunderstandings continue to compound until, in true romantic fashion, love solves all problems.

Four young women become fast friends while attending an English boarding school. Victoria Raven, one of these young women, predicts their future; they will all achieve fame in some fashion, but in twenty years one of them will be gone. As their twentieth reunion approaches, they are surprised to realize that most of Victoria's prophecies have come true, except for one!

Ibbotson, Eva. Company of Swans . 1985.
In Cambridge in 1912, young ladies live by their father's word. But Harriet's love of ballet, the only joy in her dreary life, leads her to defy her father and run away from home to join a touring ballet company. Harriet finds adventure and love and has never been happier -- until she is trackeddown by her father and brought back to Cambridge.

How can four intelligent and successful women let their lives by ruined by one man, namely Clay Bowen. Spun out against the background of the television industry over three decades, these women finally learn that there are decent men to love.

Krentz, Jayne Ann. Perfect Partners. 1992.
Midwest librarian Letty Thornquist is quite surprised to learn that she has inherited a Seattle sporting equipment company from a recently deceased uncle. Even more surprised is Joel Blackstone, the current CEO of Thornquist Gear who built the company into an industry leader and has no intention of turning over the reins to Letty. When love weaves its magic spell even corporate leadership can be challenged by Cupid.

Zero MacNoo moves from Arkansas to the gay community of Toronto where he tries to deal with the break-up of his eight year relationship with David while trying to establish a new relationship with Clay.

Four savvy black women in Phoenix share their lives, dreams and hopes with each other and lend support in times of need. But they are all still waiting--still holding their breath--for that perfect male to come into their lives. Along the way, however, they learn that they are capable of much more than they think -- with or without a man!

Michael, Judith. Acts of Love. 1997.
Lucas Cameron is a well-known Broadway director whose whole life revolves around the theater. Raised by his grandmother, Constance Bernhardt, "one of America's leading actresses," Lucas is devastated by her recent death. As her designated heir, Lucas finds a 20 year correspondence between his grandmother and a former stage actress, Jessica Fontaine. As Lucas reads these letters,he remembers that Jessica was on her way to becoming a very successful actress in her own right, and the one most likely to inherit his grandmother's position on Broadway. A tragic accident, however, caused Jessica to drop out of sight. Lucas is determined to find Jessica and bring her back to the stage where she belongs.

A chance encounter in a San Francisco coffee shop in 1966 changes the lives of Dr. Mac Carlin and Nurse Casey Adams forever. Orphaned cousins Nathan and Leonora flee the grime and poverty of London in the mid-1800's to seek their fortune in America. They choose New Orleans as their new home. But their loves, lives and loyalties are sorely tested by the American Civil War and its bitter aftermath. Their love of family and of each other gives them the strength to meet the challenges of life.

Despite their religious differences they became friends. In time, Timothy and Deborah's friendship turns to something much stronger, forcing them to ultimately choose between their love and their conflicting religions.

When Tess McPhail leaves Wintergreen, Missouri to seek fame and fortune, she vows never to look back. Now firmly established as the country's top country and western singer, she finds it is often lonely at the top. When Tess is forced to return home to help care for her ailing mother, she suddenly rediscovers some ot the charm of a small town including becoming reacquainted with the boy next door.

Steel, Danielle. No Greater Love. 1991.
When the Titanic sank, it took the lives of Edwina Winfield's parents and fiance. Her grief almost overwhelms her, but she has five younger brothers and sisters to raise. She devotes herself to their welfare, and when she least expects it, Edwina gets a second chance at love.

Taylor, Janelle. Midnight Secrets. 1992.
Virginia Anne and Johanna, lifelong friends, were on their way back to America when Johanna developed a sudden illness and passed away. Since the Civil War had changed everything that Ginny had known before she went abroad, she discovers that she has nothing to return to. So she assumes Johanna's identity and sets off to Texas to fulfill her friend's last wish.

Thayer, Nancy. Everlasting. 1991.
Catherine Eliot defies her socially prominent family to open her own business -- a flower shop. Even though she becomes very successful, a failed romance makes her feel that something important is still missing in her life.

Thurm, Marian. Henry in Love. 1990.
Despite the forty-one year age difference, Kate's marriage to Henry is very happy. Now he is ill and they know that the end is near. Kate calls upon Henry's first and second wife to help Henry come to grips with his past and make his final days as pleasant as possible.

Trollope, Joanna. A Spanish Lover. 1996.
Frances Shore has always been there for her family, especially for her twin sister Lizzie and her four nieces and nephews.To all outward appearances, she appears very content with her proper British life, but Frances is longing for something more. While on a business trip to Spain, Frances meets a married Catholic businessman and her whole life is changed in ways she and her family could never imagine.

Villegas, Anna Tuttle. All We Know of Heaven. 1997.
Austin Barclay gave up his lucrative law practice and fast paced lifestyle in New York to move back to California and teach law. He wanted more time to enjoy life. When Austin found the perfect house and a surprising new romance with his realtor, Dolores Meredith, they felt that life was looking pretty good. Dolores realized that Austin was the missing piece of her life, and was completely devastated when they discovered that Austin was HIV-positive!

Waller, Robert James. Bridges of Madison County . 1992.
An innocent meeting between a 52 year old photographer on assignment in Iowa and the 45 year old farmer's wife who gives him local directions leads to an incredible meeting of minds, souls and hearts between two lonely people. Robert and Francesca share an intense, but forbidden four day romance. Then they are forced to rely on the memories of those precious days for the rest of their lives.

Whitney, Phyllis. Ebony Swan. 1992.
Susan Prentice's father just died and she has broken off her engagement. At a loss, and feeling very alone, she decides to get in touch with her maternal grandmother whom her father would not let her contact since Susan's mother had died under mysterious circumstances twenty-five years earlier. Susan's desire to recapture her childhood in Virginia uncovers some deeply buried family secrets and leads to a renewal of an old and treasured friendship.
