Students prepare for competition by reading from a prepared list of 50 books. (Ask at the Youth Services Desk or check the Webrary Booklist page for Grades 4-6 or for Grades 7-8 for a copy of the current list for your grade level.) Teams of four, plus a timekeeper, compete for points by answering detailed questions from each book.
This competition among teams from area schools happens twice yearly at the Library. In November and December, 4th, 5th and 6th graders face-off. Meets for the 7th and 8th grade battle are held in February, March and April. Meets are scheduled in the Baxter Room Auditorium of the Library at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Anyone is welcome to come cheer on these teams.
