Drop-in programs
Listen Up!
Stories and activities selected to develop an early love of reading. Drop in story time for preschool children and their caregivers.
Wee Read
Friday mornings and 4th Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. in the Youth Services Department, this program offers children newborn to 24 months and their parents or caregivers a chance to share time together to be exposed to language, books, and playful activities in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Class Sessions
There are four eight-week sessions of classes during the year:
Winter classes run from early January through February Spring classes run from mid-March through mid-May Summer classes run from mid-June through early August Fall classes run from mid-October through early December
Registration generally begins three weeks before a session starts. Classes are open to all. However, priority will be given to Morton Grove residents. Jump to the Class Schedules page to see registration and dates for the current session. All classes are free of charge.
- Library Playtime
- For 2-year-olds, a shorter version of our Preschool Storytime which includes stories, fingerplays, games, and crafts geared to the toddler accompanied by a parent or caregiver. This class meets in the Youth Services Department.
- Preschool Storytime
- Classes for children (age 3 through kindergarten) give children the opportunity to experience stories, songs, fingerplays, games and videos in a group setting.
- Stories 'n Stuff
- This class is for children in kindergarteners, and grades 1 and 2. It includes stories and related activities such as games, crafts, cooking or videos.
