The "Hardy Boys" books

Arctic Patrol Mystery. 1969. While searching in Iceland for a missing sailor sought by an insurance company, Frank and Joe Hardy uncover a plot threatening the life of a U.S. Astronaut and the secrets of NASA's Moon project.

Cave-In. 1983. While trying to trace the whereabouts of a kidnapped movie star, Frank and Joe find themselves in dangerous company when they join a film company on location at a ski resort.

The Clue In the Embers. 1972. In solving the mystery of two medallions missing from an inherited curio collection, the Hardy boys wind up in a desolate area of Guatemala at the mercy of dangerous thugs.

The Crimson Flame. 1983. The Hardy brothers travel to an Arizona ranch and, eventually, Thailand, in pursuit of jewel thieves who have stolen a priceless ruby.

Mystery of the Spiral Bridge. 1994. Frank and Joe are determined to bring to justice the vicious criminals who kidnapped their detective father while he was investigating sabotage of a road-building project in the Kentucky wilderness.

The Outlaws Silver. 1981. The Hardy boys are given clues which send them in search of the treasure hidden by the Outlaw of the Pine Barrens.

Sky Sabotage.1983. Frank and Joe go to Florida to investigate the sabotage of a satellite launch and uncover a theft ring involving sea animals.

Trapped at Sea.1982. The Hardy brothers travel from the highways of eastern United States to tropical islands trying to track down truckloads of precious cargo that are being hijacked.

The "Great Brain" books

The Great Brain. 1967. The exploits of Tom, the Great Brain of Adenville, Utah, are described by his younger brother, J.D., who is frequently the victim of the Great Brain's schemes for gaining prestige or money.

The Great Brain At the Academy. 1972. The Great Brain faces the challenge of life at a strict Catholic boarding school with daring exploits and money-making schemes.

The Great Brain Reforms. 1988. During summer vacation in 1898, J.D. arrives at a means of reforming his older brother, The Great Brain, and ending his career as a swindler.

The Great Brain Does It Again. 1976. At the turn-of-the-century, Tom's great brain comes up with eight more schemes, most of them concerned with earning money.

Me and My Little Brain. 1971. In the absence of his older brother, the Great Brain finds that his own little brain can accomplish feats on a somewhat lesser scale.

More Adventures of the Great Brain. 1969. In 1896 the Great Brain is almost twelve years old and more mischevious than ever in his practical jokes and schemes against everyone in town. (Paperback)

The Return of the Great Brain. 1974. The Great Brain struggles to stay reformed now that his friends have threatened to have nothing to do with him if he pulls even one more swindle.

The "Spotlight Club Decectives" books

The Hidden Box Mystery. 1973. A series of petty thefts in the neighborhood leads the Spotlight Club into a new mystery.

Mystery at Keyhole Carnival. 1977. While working part-time at a carnival, the Spotlight detectives discover a plot to keep the carnival from staying in their town.

Mystery at Macadoo Zoo. 1973. Cindy, Jay, and Dexter are the Spotlight Club Detectives. In this book they track down a pickpocket loose at the zoo.

Mystery at Southport Cinema. 1978. The Spotlight Club Detectives try to locate a grocery store thief who disappears into a neighborhood theater.

Mystery of the Melting Snowman. 1974. The Spotlight Club detectives are involved in a new case concerning a mysterious man and an iron dog.

Mystery of the Silver Tag. 1972. When a missing valuable cat turns up in their mysterious neighbor's house, the Spotlight Club detectives conclude that the man is a thief and set out to rescue the animal.

The "McGurk Detective Organization" books

The Case of the Bashful Bank Robber. 1981. The McGurk Detective Organization joins forces with the FBI to capture a bank robber.

The Case of the Invisible Dog. 1977. The McGurk Organization's four 10-year-old detectives, Joey, Wanda, Willie, and McGurk himself, match wits with 9-year-old Brains Bellinghanm, a scientific genius, as they try to unravel the mystery of the "invisible dog."

The Case of the Nervous Newsboy. 1976. Jack McGurk and his fellow detectives match wits with the local police as they track down a runaway newsboy.

The Case of The Purloined Parrot. 1990. McCurk and his squad of amateur detectives investigate an epidemic of disappearing pets in their neighborhood.

The "Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators" books

(Note: This series is written by various authors.In order to keep the books together on the shelf, we list them all as if the author was Hitchcock. Since his death, the latest books in the series have been published under the title, "The Three Investigators" dropping the name "Alfred Hitchcock". But we will continue to shelve them as before.)

The Haunted Carousel. 1983. Nancy Drew finds more than one mystery to solve when she searches for the reason an amusement park carousel turns itself on during the night.

The Mysterious Image. 1984. Nancy Drew sets out to locate a kidnapped actress and to clear one of her father's clients, a renowned photographer, accused of stealing ideas for his images.

The Silver Cobweb. 1983. Nancy's latest mystery involves golf pros, opera stars, jewelry designers, and webs and spiders.

The Swami's Ring. 1983. When an amnesia victim appears in River Heights with a royal Hindu ring in his possession, Nancy Drew is called in to help learn his identity.

The "Boxcar Children" books

The Boxcar Children. 1972. Four orphaned children, Jessie, Benny, Henry, and Violet Alden, hide out in an abandoned boxcar so that they will not be separated and sent to a children's home. At the end they find a home with their kind grandfather.

Benny Uncovers a Mystery. 1976. Benny and Henry take summer jobs at a department store where a series of peculiar events brings them under suspicion.

Bicycle Mystery . 1970. While on a bicycle trip to their aunt's farm, the four Aldens help solve a mystery.

Blue Bay Mystery. 1993. The Aldens find a castaway on a South Sea Island. How did he get there and who is he?

Bus Station Mystery. 1974. The Alden children, isolated in a storm at a small bus station, are led into a mystery centering on a polluted river.

Caboose Mystery. 1966. A trip in a caboose at the end of a freight train leads the Aldens to an old clown and a search.
