Library DVD Players Policy
The DVD Players in the Library are available to patrons viewing MGPL DVDs or listening to MGPL audiobooks or MGPL music CDs. Exceptions to MGPL materials may be made by the Head of Reference Services or the Librarian-in-Charge for other educational materials or materials in a standard course syllabus from a business or educational institution.
Non-MGPL devices may not be connected to the Library's DVD Players other than with permission from the Head of Reference Services or the Librarian-in-Charge.
Materials viewed on the MGPL DVD Players must be in compliance with the Morton Grove Village Code (6-1-5) on obscenity. Library staff will occasionally monitor the use of these Players to ensure compliance. Use of the Players must comply also with U.S. copyright laws.
Viewing or listening time is limited to the equivalent of viewing one feature film (approximately 2 hours) within the Library's hours of business. Time may be extended if no other users are waiting.
Teen Area DVD Player
This DVD Player is reserved for the use of teen patrons who are in 7th - 12th grades. No more than two patrons may view this player at any one time, and Library headphones must be used .
Second floor (temporary location) DVD Player
This DVD Player is reserved for use by adult patrons, age 18 and over, or by minors accompanied by a parent/guardian. Library headphones must be used when one or two patrons are using this Player. A group of three or four patrons may use Library speakers with this Player as long as the speaker volume is set to a level that will avoid disturbing staff or other patrons.
