MatchBook Select

The MatchBook Select service is a collection of online and e-mail newsletters that highlight new titles of interest to our readers and, now includes Books & Beyond, the official newsletter of the Morton Grove Public Library. While the MatchBook Classic service can provide you with complete listings, including a limited number of brief annotations, of all new Library purchases in your areas of interest, with MatchBook Select you'll receive e-mail newsletters highlighting a selection of new titles, most with full annotations. Titles in each newsletter usually include a summary and a link to the Morton Grove Public Library's catalog to check availability and/or place reserves.

Each of the twenty-five Select newsletters listed below is published as listed in the description. You can either bookmark the lists of your choice and check them periodically for new titles, or subscribe to one or more lists and receive them automatically in your e-mail every time they're published.

Or, if you're looking for an even more personalized service, check out MatchBook Classic where you'll find a selection of over 80 specific subject areas, fiction genres, and audio-visual formats. Choose just the ones that interest you, and you'll then receive a monthly list (mail or e-mail) of new materials in the Library that exactly match your selections.

The MatchBook Select Newsletters

Click on a newsletter name below to see the current edition.

Click the checkbox next to the newsletters you'd like to subscribe to, then enter your e-mail address at the bottom of the page to sign up. You will receive an e-mail confirming your subscription, and the newsletter(s) will be e-mailed to you when the next edition is published.

Each newsletter is published on a different schedule; if you subscribe to more than one, you will not receive all of them at the same time.

To unsubscribe from a newsletter, use the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of each e-mailed newsletter.

New Suspense and Thrillers: Published the 3rd Thursday of the month.
New Science Fiction: Published monthly.
New Large Print Books: Published the 4th Thursday of each month.
New Biographies and Memoirs: Published the 4th Monday of each month.
New Philosophy, Psychology and Religion: Published the 4th Tuesday of each month.
New Finance, Business, Law and Crime: Published the 4th Wednesday of each month.
New Social Sciences, Language, and Education: Published the 4th Thursday of each month.
New Science and Technology: Published the 4th Friday of each month.
New Home and Family Living: Published the 4th Monday of each month.
New Art and Literature: Published the 4th Tuesday of each month.
New Travel, Geography and History: Published the 4th Wednesday of each month.
Audio: Listen up for recommendations on the best in new audiobooks. Each month, you'll hear about new spoken-word audios to keep you entertained, enlightened and in-the-know.
Lifestyles: From self-help and fitness to home decor, books designed to fit your active lifestyle and renew your spirit are featured here. This monthly newsletter will steer you toward the best new cookbooks, gardening guides, pet care manuals and more.

Youth Services Special Events: Published as a reminder of upcoming events. Don't miss out! Seasonal books are also featured.
New Youth Fiction: Published the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
New Youth Nonfiction: Published the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
New Youth Picture Books: Published the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
Youth Genre of the Month: Published the1st Monday of each month.
Meet the Illustrator: Get bi-monthly profiles of some of the most popular children's authors. You'll discover where they find inspiration for children's stories and characters, as well as getting behind the scene looks at their own personalities.
Teen and Graphic Novels: Published the 3rd Thursday of the month.

Miscellaneous Newsletters

Books & Beyond: NEW Books & Beyond is the official newsletter of the Morton Grove Public Library. It is published every other month.
New York Times Bestseller List: NEW Get a head start on the upcoming week's New York Times list of the top ten bestselling fiction and nonfiction titles. This weekly newsletter will be sent out on Tuesday.
Thinking Out Loud Book Discussion Group: Find summary and discussion questions for the books we will be reading this year. This book discussion group meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm.
All Booked Up Book Discussion Group: Find summary and discussion questions for the books we will be reading this year. This book discussion group meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:00am.
Meet The Author: Go behind the scenes with weekly profiles of today's top authors. You'll find out what inspires and motivates your favorite writers and get a revealing glimpse of the person behind the book.
