Wolves running the world

We have a patron searching for the title and author of an audiobook she borrowed from us recently. It concerns a race of wolves who can change to human form. The wolves run the world, having their paws in big business, finance, owning major corporations, etc., but humans don't know these people are actually wolves. Another group of these wolves wants to cut all ties with humans, and this sets up the novel's conflict between the two groups. We've eliminated such authors as Kelley Armstrong, Laurell K. Hamilton, Alice Borchardt, and Brian Stableford. We've also eliminated Lives of the Monster Dogs, by Bakis. It's a long book, the patron says.
The patron loved the audio and would like to read the book, and also any sequels or prequels. Any help would be most appreciated!

Could it be "The Passion" or its sequel "The Promise" by Donna Boyd. The
advanced species aren't wolves they are werewolves, but otherwise it seems
to fit.
