Romances Now Reviewed at Washington Post!
|
FROM: "Lynne Welch" <[removed]@oplin.org>
REC'D: 4/9/04, 1:44 PM
"The Washington Post will publish its first Romance Roundup review on
Sunday, April 11 in Book World, its Sunday book supplement. I wrote it.
The editors have said that they will see what the reader reaction is to the
Post's first recognition of romance as a genre worthy of review. If you read
the Post and approve of this step they have taken, you might want to contact
the Book World editors.
Please forward this message to anyone who, in your opinion, might be
interested.

Thanks so much for posting this news about the first Romance Roundup in the
Washington Post Book World. In addition to posting on Fiction_L, I'm also the
publicist for Washington Romance Writers, a chapter of Romance Writers of
America. We're all very excited about this. Hopefully, many of us will convey
to the Post how appreciative we are of thise new (and hopefully to-be-repeated)
feature).

Hello all,
please excuse cross-posting. Jayne Ann Krentz just posted this note on her
bulletin board and I thought it was worth sharing. Many of you will
recognize what an immense step forward this represents for the genre in
terms of respectability from the standpoint of those in the publishing
industry.
Regards,
Lynne
