There was a new young adult author featured on the Today Show earlier this week--Tues, I think. I walked in on the end of the segment, and didn't catch the title, so now of course, I have a patron asking for it.

The author had worked in a grocery store for years, and wrote this book that is a fantasy and features birds. The patron thinks "sorrow" is in the title.

Ring a bell to anyone?

I saw this too, or at leasst part of it. The author
is British and the title is "One for sorrow, two for
joy". I did not find it on Amazon when I searched for
it, but tried amazon.co.uk and found it there. The
author is Clive Woodall. I did not find the name on
Amazon; so at this point I'm not sure if a US edition
is planned.
