I have been looking for the title of a book I read in 1993 or 1994 that was set in the U.S. about a young woman and her immigrant parents (from somewhere in Latin America). The uncle, Guzman (which is the only character name I remember from the book), comes to live with the family and relates stories from the family's past - all the while the young girl is struggling to come of age while being one of the few Latin Americans in her school. I think it might have been set in Chicago during the 1950's. Does this ring a bell with any of you all?
