good morning, everyone - I throw myself upon your mercy.

I am in search of a book (or series of books - I'm working from a "While You Were Out" slip) that matches the following criteria:

Patron read this book recently, but can't remember title and author and would like to read more by the same author.

1. The book he read had "HUNTER" or "HUNTERS" in the title
2. It took place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
3. The author lives in Duluth, MN and in Scotland part of the time
4. The main character's name is McLaughlin, and is a township constable
5. The author is female
6. The book he read took place in the early 1950's

Please help. I can't keep up my work rep as "Queen of Reader's Advisory" without you! :)

Kathleen Hills has written two books set in the UP in the 50s. The
first title is Past Imperfect and the second is Hunter's Dance. The
main character's name is John McIntyre.
