Many of Kay Hooper's novels contain psychic and/or clairvoyant elements. To
fit these in as well, I would recommend some earlier romantic suspense novels
by Linda Howard, particularly "Now You See Her" and "Dream Man." I think both
of these will fit your patrons requirements also.

Iris Johansen leaps to mind for Kay Hooper fans. Her most recent is
Firestorm, about a psychic arson investigator, but you'll probably have on
the shelf the Eve Duncan series (Face of Deception, Killing Game, Body of
Lies) and the spin-offs The Search, Dead Aim and No One to Trust.

For the psyhic/clairvoyant element combined with romance, there's a whole
subcategory of romances called "paranormal." You can find lots of them
listed at the Romantic Times and All About Romance websites.

For horror/mystery, depending of course on how much blood she'll tolerate,
you could suggest John Sandford's "Prey" series (there's a new one just
coming), Thomas Harris's Hannibal Lecter trilogy, or even Stephen King.

If your patron liked the suspense of Kay Hooper, check out the Romantic Suspense series by J.D. Robb...the "in Death" series. I personally love Kay Hooper, and find the suspense of Robb somewhat similiar. But do ask your patron if a futuristic novel is acceptable.

Also try Jan Burke's latest paperback "Bones," the suspense drives the reader through to the end. It is the latest in the series that began with "Goodnight, Irene."

For something like the supernatural elements in some of Hooper's books (Haunting Rachel, Finding Laura, etc.) your patron might like Martha C. Lawrence's Elizabeth Chase mysteries. Chase is a parapsychologist.

You might try _Eyes_ and _Blood_ by 'Joseph Glass.' They've been popular
with my Kay Hooper readers. The main character is a phsychic psychiastrist
who is an occasional consultant with the police.

It's not as strong on the romantic elements, and it doesn't have the
'evil/supernatural' elements in Kay's current novels - just your average
serial killers. The voice isn't really similar either, but something in the
story seems to work for a read-alike.
