Has anyone seen the 2 versions? One self-published 2002, the other
different paging, published Knopf in 2003. We have been told that the 2
versions are very different in content (text) and should not be lumped
together-- I am waiting to get copies but of course all of ours are
checked out and there's a waiting list.
We ordinarily put all copies of a fiction title on the same bib
record--but ordinarily (with a hardcover and paperback for example)
there are no differences in the text. We did use separate records for
the British vs. American editions of the Harry Potter books and I am
wondering if this is the same sort of thing.

If there are 2 versions I'd like to know!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Knopf version but could stand to read another
version.

The story is that Paolino's parents mortgaged their home to self-publish the
book. When it sold 10,000 copies, Knopf came knocking.

One would imagine that Knopf's version is better.

I think the author's last name is spelled Paolini. There's quite a bit of
chat about Earagorn on a Allreaders.com. Found it by searching Eragorn on gogle.
