My director is interested in possibly creating a readers' services department.
She has asked me to gather some information from the wisdom of this group.
1. We are looking at using more self service check out machines and folding
circulation into this new department. We want the people in this department
to be able to do more than just circulation. These staff members will be
versed in readers' advisory services. Has any other library created a
department that has done this?
2. Is any one willing to share job descriptions/duties for staff in a
readers' advisory department?
Any help and information you can share with me regarding a readers' services
department will be helpful.
Thank you
Carrie A. Herrmann
