A patron read a book 10 to 15 years ago about two sisters-in-law who go on a
cross country trip. Oone of the sisters is blind and the blind sister drives
the car, at night on back roads, while the sighted sister gives her verbal
directions. They manage to get themselves in some interesting predicaments.
Any ideas?

This sounds like "The Widows' Adventures" by Charles Dickinson, published in 1989.
