Newsnote on page 63 of LOCUS indicates Paolini's next book is titled
ELDEST; that Fox bought film rights to ERAGON, and that foreign
language translation rights have been sold for Portugal, France,
Brazil, Germany, Greece, Italy and Japan (and maybe more).

Another 19-year-old fantasy writer without a single bestseller, but
already with a body of work, is Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, with five
books out, the latest HAWKSONG; some 400,000 copies in print of her
combined books per LOCUS.

The sf/f fields have long been relatively attractive to young (and
sometimes very young) writers; for a few more, see my letters in the
