Hi all,

A patron is looking for a book but does not have title nor author. This is what she remembers:

A waitress in a diner has a handicapped child who sits in a booth and likes red things. The child witnesses a car accident through the diner window.

The waitress feels guilty about her son since she delivered him at home, by herself. She could not make it to the hospital in time.

Does know what this book may be? I tried all different combinations in Novelist with no success.
