If so, the book could be
The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House, and the
Education of Paul O'Neill
by Ron Suskind
0743255453
Due out tomorrow from Simon & Schuster
Hope that helps,
Sarah

Help, please. I know I'm looking for nonfiction on the Fiction_L list,
but
I'm hoping someone might have a clue what my patron is looking for. She
saw
someone speaking on TV this past week about a book he had written about
the US and
Iran, something about the US wanting to start a war in Iran for
economic
reasons.

I was thinking it might also be An End to Evil: How to Win the War on
Terror by Richard Perle and David Frum - they've been making the talk
rounds and their Project for a New American Century does call for US
domination of the region.

The premise of the book is that Iran was doing just fine as a democracy until
the US put the Shah into power. It talks about Truman and Eisenhower, and how
between the US and Great Britain they fomented a revolution that overthrew
the democracy and installed the Shah. With those details, does this ring a bell
with anyone?

Thanks to everyone who replied to this request. However - we do not yet have
the right title. I ran all the suggestions past the patron, and she came up
with some more information about the book. She heard the author speaking on
television sometime in the last month or so, and she thinks his name starts
with a
K. The new info is as follows:
The premise of the book is that Iran was doing just fine as a democracy
until
the US put the Shah into power. It talks about Truman and Eisenhower, and
how
between the US and Great Britain they fomented a revolution that overthrew

<< I think it was mentioned before, but are you positive it's not "All the
Shah's men: an American coup and the roots of Middle East Terror" by Stephen
Kinzer. It includes Eisenhower and Churchill's plans to install the Shah
and Kinzer was on "Good Morning America" not too long ago as I recall.
Sorry if this is all repetitive info but I thought it might help.
