I've read FictionL for awhile but this is my first
posting. Thank you in advance for any help you can
provide.

A patron is looking for a book about a dementia
patient who babysat a little girl. Her husband
murdered the child and buried her under a willow tree.
The dementia patient then either stares at the willow
tree or sits on a bench under the tree but doesn't say
a word. The patron read the book last year but has no
idea of a date on the book. She also thinks that it
was a mystery.

I know this one! It's A grave denied, the most recent Kate Shugak novel by
Dana Stabenow. Yes, it's a mystery, but the main plot is not about this
couple, but about Kate's relationship with the son of her late lover, as
well as Jim Chopin, who has pined for her for years; and the discovery of a
body in a glacier. The couple are sort of in the background until Kate
figures out what's going on at the end of the book.
