Is there a quote in either The Hobbit or the Ring Trilogy where either Frodo
or Bilbo says "I don't like adventures. They make you late to dinner"? I
haven't been able to locate the quote online, and I'm not up to a 1200-page
slog. I know there are some fans of Middle Earth in the group, and I'm
hoping one of them remembers it.

It is from Chapter One of The Hobbit, I believe.
Don't have a copy handy, of course, but something
like...

It must have been in the Hobbit...it sounds familiar and I haven't read the

this rascal down. I found a copy of The Hobbit on the shelf, and there the
quote was on page 3. It has now been added to my quotes collection.
