A patron is trying to remember a book she read recently. She said it has a
pink cover, it has a soft cover and it is a new book. It's a comedy that
takes place in Manhasset, Long Island, New York. A young woman comes back to
her hometown because there was an accident in the family. Her Jewish mother
is deceased and talks to her daughter from heaven. The patron said the
title had something to do with a person that is looking down from heaven and
seeing everything. The author is from Manhasset.

Any ideas?

Debra--

In Lily White, by Susan Isaacs, I seem to recall that the heroine has
imaginary conversations with her mother early in the novel. It has a mauve
cover. The author is from the North Shore, but not Manhasset. Hope this
helps.
