I have a patron who is looking for the name of a series of books he used to
read when he was a child. Here is a description of that series:

A boy whose parents were diplomats would come to stay with his Aunt and Uncle
who lived in New England (Mass. I think, may even be Bedford or New
Bedford). He would have all sorts of adventures (of the bland kind, running
businesses, etc) with a neighbor girl. The age level was around sixth grade.

If anyone has any idea please let me know.

I think your patron is remembering the Henry Reed books by Keith Robertson, illustrated by Robert McCloskey. Henry stays with his aunt and uncle and his cousin Midge during the summers in Grovers Corner, NJ (except when they travel cross country) and has a variety of adventures. The original order of publication was Henry Reed, Inc. (1958); Henry Reed's Journey (1963); Henry Reed's Baby-sitting Service (1966); Henry Reed's Big Show (1970); and Henry Reed's Think Tank (1986). I read the earlier books as a kid and enjoyed them, bland or no. Who knows why one more title popped up in 1986, 16 years after the previous title, and 28 years after the first.
