Dear Fiction_L members, I took your suggestions for books to discuss for
this summer and have had a good turnout for Junes discussion (33% increase
on average) So I come to ask for your ideas again. For Fall book
discussion, the idea is to explore "religions" (not Christianity) through
fiction (or a very good non-fiction, maybe biographies). Of course I would
want to include Islam. (Then I thought I would ask practitioners of that
faith to the book discussion to help us understand some of the impact
religion plays on culture.) Ideas? I will post our collective list
to Fiction_L when it is completed. Thank you,
Lynette Olson

The only other thing I think could be improved is that they are all older
titles.

Another good sf treatment that should spark discussion can be found in James
Blish's "After Such Knowledge" tetralogy:
1. A Case of Conscience (1958)
2. Dr. Mirabilis (1964, rev 1971)
3. Black Easter (1968)
4. The Day After Judgment (1971)

Also, hasn't Fiction_L done a thread within the last couple of years about
