"Does this ring a bell? A classic story about a man who is taken to a
house with a room that is all red, where there is a young woman,
possibly a prostitute? Patron thinks it is by someone around the time of
Zola (Maupassant, perhaps, or Balzac?) He seems to be fairly sure it is
French."
