ROLLING MEADOWS LIBRARY
OPEN POSITION
LIBRARY ASSOCIATE - Part-time position available in the Readers Services
Department. This position is responsible for conducting patron interviews
and providing readers advisory service to patrons both in person and over
the phone. Duties include arranging displays, planning adult and teen
reading programs, collection development, compiling booklists, leading
book talks and a literary book discussion group, and filling in as
Interlibrary Loan back up. Position requires a working knowledge of
fiction, movies, music, and popular culture. Knowledge of community needs
and interests and a strong commitment to public service is necessary. A
bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two
years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience required. 30 hours per week includes evening and
weekend hours.
Starting rate: $11.03 per hour. Benefits include vacation, sick days,
and pension plan enrollment.
