I was asked recently for suggestions of mysteries set in New England that
give you a strong sense of place; off the top of my head, I came up with a
handful. When I checked the Fiction_L booklists, I discovered there was one
on Fiction Set in New England [for Setting], but not one specifically for
mysteries. How about suggestions and I will compile the final list?

I'd also recommend Robert J. Begiebing's The Strange Death of Mistress
Coffin, set in Puritan-era New Hampshire, though it's a bit more
literary. If you want a strong sense of New England, though, it fits.
