I have some questions for those of you using leasing plans to select popular
titles and authors. We've been using McNaughton for decades now, but would
like to look at other plans to see if they might better suit our needs and
budget. It has been a long time since we've evaluated plans, so this is long
overdue. Here are my questions:

What plan do you use?

Are you satisfied with it?

Have you used McNaughton before and switched to another plan? If so, what
were your reasons for doing so?

Our library uses the Baker & Taylor Lease Plan. We get the new fiction much faster this way and can order multiple copies because you send them back after they start setting on the shelf. We keep a certain number and get credit for any that are damaged in circ. At this time we pay $15.00 for each book up to $28.00 and any book over $28.00 you are charged double. Each month we get a list of titles and after choosing, can fax the copy to B & T.
After using this plan for about ten years, we have few complaints.

Dear Nancy,
We use McNaughtons and find it very useful. It allows us to have multiple
copies of bestsellers on hand as early as possible. We are very satisfied
with it. I order online at McNaughton.com; no paperwork, no mess. I have not
used any other plan. Baker and Taylor tried to get our business a few years
ago, but McNaughtons was willing to meet their $ offer, so we stayed with
McNaughton.
