I'm working on a display for my library that will feature books with great
literary villains. I was hoping to get some feedback from this list of
your favorite literary villains...or even some obscure (relatively
unknown) villains would be good.

Jeff Rovin's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SUPER-VILLAINS from Facts on File
Publishers might also be useful. The books in this series by
him tend to concentrate on comic book and television etc. characters
but if I recall do involve some entries from at least the popular
side of prose literature as well.
