Subject: Mystery novel identification help
I'm looking for a book for a patron. I've looked in Novelist, at various
lists, recommended a few authors, but nothing is quite right.I hope someone
out there can supply me with the information I don't have! My patron thinks
there are additional books, maybe a series, involving this character. She
remembers him as a private investigator who lives in or around Hollywood
(Hills?), has a cat and a friend who owns a gunshop. This group has worked
miracles with less, so I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for any help you can
send my way!

It's the Elvis Cole novels by Robert Crais. His friend Joe Pike owns a gun shop, and there's a "wild" cat that allows Elvis to feed him. I love these books--and a new one is coming out soon! Whoo-hooo! :)

``Ozzy Osbourne used to snort ants. Led Zeppelin had sex with
hookers on private planes. And I start a book club. Because
one can only snort so many ants and have so much sex before
one starts to long for the comfort and companionship of a book.''--Moby
