I'm looking for a book for a patron. I've looked in Novelist, at various lists, recommended a few authors, but nothing is quite right.I hope someone out there can supply me with the information I don't have! My patron thinks there are additional books, maybe a series, involving this character. She remembers him as a private investigator who lives in or around Hollywood (Hills?), has a cat and a friend who owns a gunshop. This group has worked miracles with less, so I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for any help you can send my way!

There are elements of this description that makes me think it's the Elvis
Cole series by Robert Crais. Its not entirely accurate. I don't remember
a cat, but I could be wrong about that.

It's the Elvis Cole novels by Robert Crais. His friend Joe Pike owns a gun shop, and there's a "wild" cat that allows Elvis to feed him. I love these books--and a new one is coming out soon! Whoo-hooo! :)

My first response to this was also the Elvis Cole books by Robert Crais--i
didn't remember the gun shop! Maybe between us, we've figured it out though!

"Elvis Cole" is the character I was looking for! Thanks for the help! My patron will be very pleased, especially since the new book is due out soon! I may have to start reading these myself.
