Harry Potter update

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will debut June 21 and land
with a whopping first printing of 6.8 million copies, priced at
$29.95. It's a good thing Scholastic is releasing the book on the
longest day of the year: at approximately 896 pages, Phoenix is a
third longer than The Goblet of Fire.
The huge print run is likely to have a significant impact on printers
and shippers. At a likely weight of around three pounds, the first
printing of nearly seven million copies adds up to some 20 million
pounds of books moving through the system. Speaking of backbreakers,
Scholastic a will for the first time print a library edition with a
reinforced spine.
In addition, spellbound fans can buy one of 350,000 copies of a $60
Deluxe Edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which
comes with gold embossing, a slip cover, printed end sheets and
something called "special deckled edges."
Looks, like it's time to buy stock in UPS and make an appointment with
your local chiropractor.--Edward Nawotka
