Does anyone know a Latin American novel published in the last ten years
or so about a scholar/writer who finds a rare book in the library
stacks, that has no beginning and no end? He tries to find the
beginning, but can't, and can't make it to the end either, declaring the
book immoral because without a beginning or an end, life has no meaning.
The patron read a review in one of the popular news media: New York
Times Review of Books, Wall Street Journal, etc. His impression is that
it was not popular - sort of a flash in the pan.
