Number 16 says, "I'll surrender to whichever books call to me, without
apology, realizing that reading is a summons to an intimate act of communion
with my
hidden soul."
Please feel free to use the list. You don't need permission but I do get
a kick out of knowing that someone finds it useful.

I will not read drivel no matter how big a best-seller it is or how great
its reviews in heavy literary magazines are.
I will not finish a bad book--my reading time will not be wasted.
I will remember that there is a large, wonderful, and occasionally mad world
out there and remove my nose from my book from time to time to live in it
and enjoy it because books flow from the world and not the other way around.
