This came to our Reference email (and a variety of other libraries
too), but I thought I'd offer it to the Fiction_L pantheon and see what
miracles you all can work.
Thanks and feel free to email me directly if you can help!

Subject: Research
I am a writer researching information about women of the late 1800s and
early 1900s who were handicapped writers. In my research, I have come
across a woman who lived somewhere in Illinois. She had polio, was in a
wheelchair and wrote stories about a family she made up. She also drew
pictures of these fictional people. She eventually had her work
published. I am trying to find that published work, but I know only her
first name, which was Patricia. She was part of a family that was
financially able to care for her all of her life. Do you have any
knowledge of such a person? I am very interested in finding the works
she had published. I know this information is very sketchy, but I
appreciate any help you can give me.
