Surely you mean "long-time" favorites, not "old"?
I enjoyed David Hyde Pierce reading The Autobiography of Foudini M Cat", but
I've always enjoyed him on Frazier, too.
Neil Gaiman read Coraline, his 1st children's title and it had a very
calming effect on what is a children's horror story.
I've also enjoyed Stephen King reading his short stories (has he ever done
one of his long novels?) but somehow I expected a voice like Vincent Price.
In particular I liked LT's Theory of Pets.
Jenny Sterlin reading Catherine Called Birdy and the Mary Russell & Sherlock
Holmes series by Laurie King
Jim Dale reading the Harry Potter books, how could I almost forget him!
but, C J Critt is my favorite for her Janet Evanovich books.

I spoke to C.J. Critt a few weeks ago when I attended a reading she was
doing in Garland, Texas. My companion asked after Frank and C.J. said he was
slowly recovering from the motorcycle accident that almost killed him last
year. But she said it would be a long time, if ever, before he was back in a
recording studio.
I know this isn't good news, but we can all send him good wishes and hope he
can be back in the studio in the future.

1) Barbara Rosenblat, who does, among many others, the definitive Amelia
Peabody. It's worth listening to the whole series just to hear her grow
Ramses from lisping toddler to twenty-something heartthrob.
2) (and 3) The team of Michael Hanson and Carol Cowan, who have read the
Miles Vorkosigan series up to Brothers in Arms. Michael Hanson's Miles is
brilliant, IMNSHO. Unfortunately, the company putting these out (The
Reader's Chair) is to all intents and purposed out of business (although you
can still buy from them), and there won't be any more.

If someone's already mentioned this I apologize, but one of my
all-time favorite audio books is Angela's Ashes read by the author Frank
McCourt. The book is fabulous as it is, but McCourts Irish accent adds
something to the story. It's lovely, really.

I was particularly impressed by the full cast recording for the
unabridged
version of the Golden Compass. Pullman, as narrator, did an excellent
job
and I loved the voice of Iorek Bernesson, the armored bear, his voice
was
harsh, and often lacked any inflection, which must have been
difficult,
but sounded exactly like the right kind of voice for an armored bear..
The same actor also did an impressively scary Lord Asriel. All the
actors
added a lot to an already wonderful story.

My all-time favorite audio book is Daniel Pinkwater's CHICAGO DAYS,
HOBOKEN NIGHTS, read by the author. It's also my all-time least
favorite audio book, since it's the only audio book I've ever
listened to. (I had a long drive in front of me and had forgotten
to bring my usual stash of old time radio tapes.)
Actually, I did enjoy it. Not as much as having the read the book

Currently I am enjoying listening to George Guidall read Umberto Eco's
