Have a patron seeking an adult novel he read in the 60's about a priest,
originally
assigned to a parish in Conn where he fell in love with a socialite.
Then he was
transferred to an inner city parish in NYC. One thread there that the
patron remembers was the annoying parishioner who couldnt' stop talking
about how he
had his coffin in the house and ready to go. Patron had the memory
that
the phrase "silver lining" was in the title, but a date limited search
in OCLC
(1940-1970) didn't pull up anything obvious. Nor did a subject search
under priests in FICTION CATALOG. Ring any bells?
