A patron is trying to recall the name of a book she read about 30 years ago. She says it was about an african american boy who becomes a lawyer and works in the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King. I've checked some annotated fiction lists, but have come up with nothing.

Any suggestions from fiction-L?

Could it be Five Smooth Stones, by Ann Fairbairn, c. 1966? NoveList has a good
