Hi, A staff person is looking for a fantasy book she read about 15-20 years
ago. The part of the plot she remembers is: A young woman is forced to
marry an older man who lives in a sinister castle on an island. He is
either a wizard, sorcerer or magician and she is afraid of him. The patron
thinks the wizard dies at the end after the wife comes to love and respect
the husband and has children by him. There might be a sequel to this book
that follows the son's life. She thinks the publisher was DAW and the cover
has the woman sitting in a boat and the wizard is standing up in the boat or
on the shore. She thought the title was something like The Wizard's
(Sorcerer, Warlock, etc?) Wife (bride, lady, woman?).

I could swear I saw a book much like this (and possibly even bought it) a
lot more recently than 15-20 years. (If I did buy it, it's in a box, and I
have no idea which!) If anyone can match it to a title, though, I'd be
interested too.
