REC'D: 5/10/02, 10:42 AM
Just a little bit about our SRC - We will be doing many displays featuring
multi-cultural literature as well as non-fiction displays on world
religions, ethnic food, etc. We have a an International Book Discussion
Series set for the summer. Titles to be discussed include: Balzac and the
Little Chinese Seamstress (China), The Death of Vishnu (India), Songs to an
African Sunset (Africa), Mute Phone Calls (Russia), and England,
England. We will have programs on Mehndi, games from around the world, a
multi-national style show, international crafts, animals from around the
world, "orienteering (learn to use a compass), the world of chess, and
several storytellers and puppet programs. Each year we also have a Block
Party to kick off the SRC program. This year we have bands playing a wide
variety of styles: French, Celtic, Bluegrass, German, and international
music. Plus a Middle Eastern dancer!
Thanks in advance for your help! The addresses to send the cards are
listed below.
Hasta la vista!
