A patron is looking for a book, and these are some of the details that she has given us. There is a scene in a novel in which two men are trying to escape from a concentration camp (patron indicated Dachau) by breaking through the electric fence. Apparently they are caught and the entire camp is called to attention to watch the two men die. Our patron indicated that the tale is based on a real event. The patron also indicated that she read the book about twenty years ago (though that is not necessarily when it was published.) Any ideas for the book title and author? Thanks in advance.

I seem to recall a similar incident in Hart's War by John Katzenbach. That one dealt with a murder trial in a German POW camp housing American soldiers and airmen.
