Patrons interested in novels whose focus is motherhood may want to try Mary
Alice Monroe's new novel, THE BEACH HOUSE (Mira, May, 2002). It focuses on
the re-affirmation of the bonds between mother and daughter, set against the
background of the Isle of Palms (South Carolina) and the timelessly annual
nesting of loggerhead turtles.
