I have a patron loooking for a book she remembers
reading in high school (that makes it mid 70's). It
involves two young boys , probably high school age,
who are together at a boarding school. One is very
intellectual, the other very athletic. The conflict
between them revolves around them not quite
understanding each other's talents and how hard each
one worksa to be good at what he does. She's
reasonably sure the word spring was in the title. Any
help would be appreciated.

Could this be John Kowles' A Separate Peace. It was a high school read in
the 70s, and fits the story line in parts.
