I apologize for asking a non-fiction question but your collective brain is
so wonderful - the answer may be lurking out there somewhere!

A patron remembers reading a book ca. 15 years ago that features an Asian
woman herbalist who rode on a white horse from Siberia(?) into Alaska and
then Canada. The book may be set in the 1800s or 1900s.

I know this is not much to go on. Any takers?

Could this be Alison Payne "Upon a white horse"? Not sure everywhere she
went but recreated the adventures of Cecelia Fiennes. We have no hard
copy to check
