Inspired by some of your different display suggestions, I sent a note home to
the parents of our students asking them what their favorite childhood book
was for a "Then and Now" display. The kids loved the idea, and it's amazing
how well the parents have responded. Some have even donated copies of their
favorite book for the display.

One father sent back a note that said he couldn't remember the name of his
favorite book but that it "starred a rattlesnake" and was set in the Old
West. Any idea what that might be?

About your "Then and Now" display. (Sounds great, BTW). Perhaps the patron
might be thinking of Mitchener's CENTENNIAL, which, if I remember, begins
with the rattlesnake.
