I have a 14 yr old male patron that came to me asking if I could find him
some books relating to police snipers. He is out of the range in AR book
levels so he is okay to read adult books but I would be interested in
finding some young adult fiction too. I have looked and come up with a lot
of material that is non-fiction but he is looking for fiction.
I have come across the book THE SNIPER by Theodore Taylor for YA and the
books by Stephen Hunter with the sniper as a main character.
Any other ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
TIA,

Try "The day of the jackal" by Frederick Forsyth, an excellent book, if a
little dated now that Carlos has been captured. Also "Shimbumi" by
Trevanian, which also deals with spelunking.

The opinions are my own; the library wouldn't want 'em!

You might want to give your patron White Star by James Thayer. It's
about a man who was a sniper in Vietnam and was so good he became a
legend in his own time. He hates his skill and when he returns from
'Nam he puts his rifle down and becomes an assistant district states
attorney until people standing next to him start getting killed. Gave
it to my 15-year old several years ago--his comment, "This book
rocks, Mom!"
