I have a patron who is trying to discover if he missed a volume in the
series by Gwendoline Butler featuring John Coffin. The events in the
whodunit would take place between those of Coffin Underground and Coffin
in the Museum of Crime. The first story is apparently set circa 1970,
the second circa 1978. We can't find in any of our resources that any
titles are missing in the serial lists, but the patron believes there
must be a book between that explains some pretty important developments
between the two books and would like to identify it. Can any of you

According to Allen J. Hubin's Crime Fiction II, the book that falls
between the two is "Coffin on the Water".

Coffin Underground was written in 1988, Coffin in the Museum of Crime in
1989. There are no novels as written between them.
