I am looking for this short story by the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I
know it won an O. Henry award, but I am not sure of which anthologies it
might be included in. Or perhaps the copyright has expired and I will find
it on the Internet? Can anyone help me with this. I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lisa

One place where I know you can find this story is in a collection called A
Little House Sampler by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Rose Wilder Lane, edited by
William T. Anderson. It was published in 1988 by the University of Nebraska
Press.

I have not been able to find any short story anthologies which contain this
story. Rose Wilder Lane won the O.Henry Award second prize for this story.
It was published in Harper's Magazine April 1922. Perhaps, someone else
will have this edition.

It shows the story being reprinted in a collection called Notable Short
Stories Of Today. A book showed up with that title in the Cleveland
Public Library online catalog. The book was published in 1929, so it
is in the correct time frame.
It's possible the book might be available in other libraries too.
