7th-grader needs a novel about drag racing and doesn't want "How Far Would
You Have Gotten If I Hadn't Called You Back."

The plot doesn't have to revolve around the race and/or its consequences,
but it has to be a significant part of the book.

I have suggested renting "Rebel without a Cause," "Grease," and "Footloose"
while he waits for the your sure-to-be overwhelming response.

William Campbell Gault wrote several YA novels about cars and racing. So
did Henry Gregor Felsen. They're both a tad old, but should still suit his
needs.
