Subject: Book title?
I have a patron looking for a book that was published in about the last 6
months or so. It takes place in England (maybe Victorian era?) The main
character is a woman who was raised "respectable" but ends up a prostitute.
She is still able to marry a respectable man, but ends up preferring the
street. The patron also thinks that a murder is somehow involved, but is
not the main focus of the story. Maybe also a seamstress involved. Sorry
there's not more to go on, but that's all she was able to remember. Thanks
in advance for any leads.

Born to poverty in eighteenth-century London, Mary Saunders' love
of fine clothes and a dream of a better life take her from the
world of prostitution to life as a household seamstress in
Monmouth to a search for true freedom.

I don't know if this will fit the bill, but the protagonist is a 15 year old
prostitute in 19th century England. She rents an elegant gown from her
landlord to attract a higher class clientele. She falls in with a surgeon
who needs to obtain cadavers for his anatomy school.
